I am glad to start to read it earlier but be aware only one part of the four is released each week. Altogether as one novel, Night’s Blaze will be released when Part Four is released. The total cost is about the same for the novel as for the four parts together. I can’t believe anyone would start with Part One and not be compelled to finish the book. This series is just that good; Donna Grant writes some of the best paranormal.Every time I start a Dark Dragon King book I end up thinking this is my favorite. This time Night's Blaze: Part 1 really is. Honest. Night Blaze jumps right into the action. Before Part 1 is finished, the three enemies of Dreagan meets, takes a spy hostage, and Rhi has made two appearances (love that Fae).Rhys and Lily have been attracted to each other for some time, so it is fitting that they get their story now. They continue to miss read some of the situations with each other which is revving up the tension between them. Unknown to both, Lily’s abused past is tied to the Dragon Kings enemies. I did not see that coming, but Ms. Grant has it all so well plotted, the story pieces fit naturally together.Personally, I still do not think the master string puller is Ulrik. I do pull for the underdog but I think someone has been using him as a scapegoat. I will be so disappointed in him if he is the master villain! There are so many subplots going on besides the main one of Rhys and Lily. All of them are intriguing weaving into one big showdown. From the beginning of this book, it looks as if Ms. Grant will be bringing it all together soon. Hurry Part Two, I can hardly wait.Copy provided by Net Galley for an honest review.

Night's Blaze is book eight in her Dark Kings Series and from the get go it has left me gasping. Another serial book with each Part coming out once a week, starting on March 10, 2015 and coming to it's sweeping conclusion on March 31, 2015. And for those of you who don't like serial books, never fear the book in it's entirety will be release on March 31st as well.This book is a bit different because for the first time in thus series, we already know the heroine. Lily has worked for Strahan as a clerk in their shop for quite dome time. A mysterious human who has remained quietly in the background. So unassuming we almost forget about her...Lily Ross was raised in a loving family but walked away from it all for a man. A handsome, charming man that her entire family despised. But Lily knew best and accepted that they would cut her off if she stayed with him. She did. And was rewarded with bruising, broken bones and a shattered self esteem. But, she did escape and somehow made it to the sanctuary of Dreagan. Slowly she has recovered her sense of self and she's almost ready to actually trust a man again. Especially, if that man is the ever scrumptious, Rhys.Rhys is everything a Dragon King could be. He is smart and loyal. While he was friends with Ulrik for millennium when he accepted Con's decision on how Ulrike should be punished he never quite agreed with it. But that didn't matter, he was loyal to the kings. When someone mixed the magic of the Dark Far with Dragon Magic and Rhys was injured... Rhys begun to believe it was Ulrik and hi s loyalties were cemented with Con.. Now he is unable to shift back to Dragon form and he is shall we say a wee bit angry? How could Ulrik have done such a thing? (Of course I remain firm in my opinion that Ulrik is not the bad guy). Bad enough that this should happen but the timing sucks, sexy, bad boy Rhys has met his Mate and he firmly believes she is lost to him.So we have a sexy shifter and an abuse serving human slowly finding there way to each other. That alone would make a fabulous story but Donna has so much mire in store for us.This continues to serve the light far but she is constantly in flux, unsure of who she really is... Ulrik or someone everyone thinks is him, continues to stir things up bringing the traitors to MI5 and the Dark Fae together, giving each side the belief that they can destroy Dreagan and control the world afterwords but the mysterious Dragon King is up to no good.Not only are things heating up in the war but closer to home, Lily has some serious choices to make..Now, why do I think it's not Ulrik? I have felt this since Ulrik was first posed as the bad guy...But hints are dropping.First off he told a human captive to never call him Ulrik. Now this could mean don't say my name, I don't want you for sure to know who I am but I don't think so.Second, he claimed that he should have been the one to rule. Said in a way that reeks of a long held resentment. And Ulrik never had that ambition.I am so into this book, so far, in my humble opinion this is the best book of the series but that is solely based on part 1.
