4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. EXCELLENT first effort from a new author. By zach I never review anything on Amazon, but felt compelled to share my opinion of this book. It's tough for new authors to get press, and it's kind of a shame because I loved this book. Excellent first effort!! It was a gripping read, and I read it cover to cover pretty much immediately after it's release. I look forward to more works by this author!

Black Well-crafted balance of a good eye for historical detail, a keen appreciation for the power of place, and the roller-coaster pacing of classic pulp. The only thing this story didn't give me was a chance to catch my breath.
