Park has had a horrendously bad childhood which has kept her from being able to form romantic attachments. Bas is a three hundred year old vampire who is dealing with something new in the vampire community, a vampire who is making war on other vampires. The first move in the unknown vampire's war was to turn one of Bas' blood bonded into a vampire. The next move was to set the new vampire to killing those close to Bas. Bas is just trying to compel a human into giving him a ride home when he runs into Park, who DOES'T compel. Neither does she blood bond, though her blood is exceptional. As they travel to his home, Bas falls in love with her. He also identifies her as something other than strictly human, but he can't define what.There are multiple strory arcs in this book. Although the story circles around Park and focuses on her relationship with Bas, there are multiple other arcs happening. So many, that by the end of the book, it has taken away somewhat from Park and Bas. We meet Park's friends in this book, some of whom become vampire and find mates of their own. We meet Bas' staff, who have their own secrets to play into the story. We meet Park's parents and see her unique powers develop. We find out more about what Park is and the secretive community she and Bas will now be a part of. We meet the bad guys. However the story ends with the loss of a major battle and some of our favorite characters. With so many new people running around, we don't get more than a taste of any of them. The first half of the book invests us in Park and Bas, but the second half of the book, wasn't as compelling, with too much activity and not enough focus on the connection of our main characters.

I've never really read Vampire Romance type novels before but I took a chance on this one and it paid off in a big way. The story just draws you in and leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read more from this author! Take a chance and buy this, you won't regret it! I loved it!

The price was fantastic and so is the story. Loved the character development and the creativity of this new vampire world. While there are some gramatical errors, I did not find them distracting, I was too involved in the story. Looking forward to the next book! Hurry hurry hurry...... :)
