The first novel in Dave Walsh’s Andlios series. Humanity never stopped growing or using resources, leaving Earth in crisis. The solution was a mission to send ships of immense proportions out into the expanse of space to colonize neighboring planets. Jonah Freeman was born into the lowest rung of society aboard the Omega Destiny. He fought and clawed his way out of poverty only to find himself uncovering a conspiracy about the mission and their destination planet that could alter humanity’s history forever. On the other side of the Omega Destiny was Captain Peter O’Neil, born into wealth and the honor of being the Captain that would land humanity on its new home planet. Freeman and O’Neil were born on different sides of the spectrum aboard the Omega Destiny but their lives were on a collision course all while their new home planet of Omega loomed in the distance, growing closer and more mysterious every day. What greeted them when they arrived was not only shocking, but more dangerous than they ever imagined.

By superCalo Unfortunately much of sci fi is horrible, I say that as a fan of the genre, so I often start a book with low expectations. So in these days of trilogies I often stop after reading the first novel in the sequence. In regards Terminous Cycle I'm interested to see what will happen in the second book, good scene has been set, a epic generations long space voyage, a new world - that is not as new as first appears. Conflict between humanity's way of doing things, why its failed in the past, and will it again. There are some genuine suspenseful moments aboard the ship and the author captures how such confined spaces & scope could affect people mentally after so many years, also the gap between rich poor, powerful, the weak - does it ever really go away. The main character Jonah is a complex and flawed man, who wants to do the right thing, but just doesn't know the right way of going about it, his mental disintegration a reflection perhaps on the people of the ships as a whole.Good to have someone who can relate to in their flawed decision making. Why only 4 stars ?Some of the book appeared to me rushed, there were some sequences that could have been fleshed out, others might argue thats merely slowing the story down, getting rid of unessential elements that don't add anything to the plot. However I always like to feel the characters, even those that are not necessarily major, I want to know their motivations, their reasonings. There are a couple of characters that in my opinion could have had this treatment even if it added nothing to the story, it gets that "feel experience the story in real time" emotion. So in effect I'm saying I wanted it to be longer, I guess I'll have to wait till the 2nd book in the series to make that so.Well worth the $3.00 or whatever it was.

Its a worth read amd im talking to you scifi fans....but dosent mean you have to be one By Oh My Bookness Any debut novel by any author, any author even established are not neither first are their greatest or flawless but that does not mean or make it any good. In Dave Walsh's debut novel Terminus Cycle the first in the Andllios Series is a nice start to the series and has a promising a future. As I write this I think about my rating and for most you will go by the rating and not what I'm going to say about his writing or the story it's self. So let me start with why I give Terminus Cycle a 3 star rating! (if I could it would be a 3.5 star but there's no option for that). The writing starts off strong with character development, getting to know the characters, traits, backgrounds, their reasoning for their actions but we lose a little when we see transition into space. We also see the plot not completely formed or well defined but we're giving enough to know there is a issue on earth that leads to space. As we look at the transition into space its a little loose, when we are transitioning from one scene to the next we need to make sure the audience understands why and even if they do there should not seem as if there are two complete stories happening. If your intention is that to seem so all you need to do is give a hint, a idea, a link, a paragraph suggesting something is to happen or we're ending one or breaking to give a look into a new future or events that transpired to those events.By no means is this a bad book, this is a good book, a good first novel. When it comes to series's I always find the first to be "yeah I can see this" to the second "blasting off". What makes Dave Walsh first novel obviously promising he knows how to incoporate and successfully use human emotion and action making it seem real in a Sci-Fi novel. The people are real and relatable and you can tell he put a lot of time, effort and planning when cam to writing the people and the action that takes place. With all that focus I would just like to see a little more transition work, smoother transitions or a clearer two piece story. With the focus you see on the people and earth I would love to see that same descriptive detail within there. So when you see three star, it's not a bad book. It's worth buying, I can see more from this author especially as I-Fi being such a hard genre to write and even harder to please the fans of the genere. For non-science fiction fans I can still see some interest and if you have kindle unlimited free book if not you can't beat the price.

On the way to their new home, passengers and crew of the Omega Destiny discover their new home planet is already inhabited - by humans. And they discover their mission is not all it seems. The fate of two worlds rests on the shoulders of a young crew member from the lowest rungs of Earth society. He is equal parts brilliant and utterly stupid. Not a classic by any means, but an entertaining romp through the cosmos.
