5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A very fun read..... By Jack L I read several reviews about this book before my purchase. Some said the author was too "wordy." Some said the author had written unrealistic dialog between the two male protagonist in the book. Sorry I disagree with both of these statements. I found this to be a very fun read. I thought the dialog was excellent. A portion of the story deals with two Navy veterans from different generations bantering back and fourth. As an ex-military man I can attest that this does in fact exists among friends and those who have shared this common bond. The bad guys are your typical released prison thugs who always try to impose their will on the too few survivors. This is not a "preppers" handbook. This is a "if I had the training and survived I would do this" kind of book. There is humor and drama. And at the end of the book you will find yourself smiling and maybe chuckling a little bit. I hope you enjoy this "fun read" as much as I did. Hoping the author can make this a regular series.
7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. ~~California after the Pandemic~~ By Off Grid..and Loving it! This story takes place in Santa Monica, CA, after the pandemic hits. The undead mutants are called "Gobblers" and they are running rampart in the city.James was the head of security for a firm when the SHTF. His boss had a magnificent setup for the EOTW on the 21st floor of a building. This was completely stocked with ammo, food, booze - you name it and he had it available. Unfortunately, what was lacking was another human for James! It should be mentioned that James was a SEAL for 8 years so a lot of training in that area.Master Chief Owens, a crusty SEAL, also plays an important role in this one. The humor in this book is priceless and am still laughing at some of the MC's expressions....The reader will not only feel the pain of the gladiators but also be able to laugh with the main characters. Guts, glory, gore and humor at its finest!Most highly recommended.
