**SEQUEL "THE LIGHT BECKONS" NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER** The Void Threatens is a dark and philosophical tale of epic proportions, done in a creative and entertaining way that promises to keep you coming back for more. It’s the result of combining the existentialism of Friedrich Nietzsche and Søren Kierkegaard with the classic high fantasy of J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert Jordan. Impossible cities flourish in this world, and violent racism thrives and fuels a slavery industry that plagues the land. When a mysterious race of beings threaten the entire world, flawed and authentic people are forced to rise up and challenge these godlike foes. At its core, The Void Threatens is a tale of overcoming evil both on the outside and within. The void threatens everyone; will anybody be able to stave off the evil in this fallen world?

Intelligent Existential Fantasy By Kevin Lintner Having immersed a great deal of time reading Nietzsche and Kierkegaard in my younger days, I always find it amusing when someone much younger than me says something like "Yeah, I love Nietzsche, he was a nihilist, just like me" or some similar kind of rubbish. Nietzsche was NOT a nihilist, but he did make it famous by carrying on about just how bloody awful it was. In fact, he claimed that nihilism would be the one thing that could destroy everything around us including time itself. One of the reasons I enjoyed "The Void Threatens" by Connor M. Donovan, a young man the same age as my oldest son, is his grasp on the on the difference between existentialism and nihilism. That alone earns a favorable review, but Donovan's ability to weave these philosophies into his work without making it seem like he is standing on a soapbox is fantastic. This is an intelligent and well written book whose characters are all extremely well developed. The action and excitement of the book does not falter or take a backseat to the author's beliefs.I usually stray away from books that mix philosophy with fiction in such a manner because it usually winds up being tripe like "Atlas Shrugged." I am glad I made an exception with this book, In fact, I liked it so much that after I finished reading it using my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I purchased it. Great Stuff!

I absolutely LOVE the characters of The Void Threatens By Vanessa Hoffmann I purchased this novel through my KindleUnlimited subscription on amazon.de. Being a German, I am particularly fond and aware of Nietzsche and how this book was influenced by him.If you read this novel with an open mind, putting away your stubborn worldview for however long it takes you to read (I consumed it within hours), you will be 'wow'ed by this excellent story. I have been waiting a long time to find a fantasy / scifi novel that will stun me as much as Tolkien or Goodkind. I literally read it without taking a break. As I already state in my title, the characters have drawn me in the most - really awesome and well-developed.5 Stars!!

Well, this fantasy book was clearly influenced by him and others of the existentialism branch of philosophy, making this an intelligent and provoking read. The despair and suffering all these characters go through, and the realistic portrayal of every person in this book is masterfully done! The book isn’t too wordy or academic, and despite its philosophical nature it is really accessible and just a really entertaining and intriguing story. There’s plenty of fantasy action and a pretty fast pace on top of an intense plot, and I’m eager for the sequel!
