About the Author Rob Sanders is the author of The Serpent Beneath a novella that appeared in the New York Times bestselling Horus Heresy anthology The Primarchs. The previous novels written in this setting were fantastic and read at a good clip By Brian Gregory I have come back to the Warhammer universe after a long vacation. The previous novels written in this setting were fantastic and read at a good clip. Archaon, the first book I have returned to is a bit slow, plodding at times and even — dull. Understandably, this can only be true due to its length. At only ~410 pages it could have been shorter, more riveting and inviting as should be for this particular part of the End of Times. I really did not feet the setting in this book at all. The two accompanying characters at Archaon side are fairly one dimensional as well.Please Black Library, if you are going to continue to write Warhammer Fantasy, let's get back to the good stuff.
