Calling the author "Alan Turing" is a major insult to the real man, who - in case you don't know - was the brilliant British computer pioneer who contributed greatly to the defeat of the Germans in World War II by figuring out how to decode their "Enigma Machine."

By Alastair McKinley When win8 was released I only used it for a couple of months and switched back to win7 as for me it is not user friendly with the desktop start up menu missing in which I was already accustomed using it. That became a hassle for me as I am very familiar with win7 and was looking for the same functionality so when win10 was released, I was captivated with the teaser I saw on the internet and I immediately downloaded it. As I go along with the book the features of win10 was discussed with its start up menu, windows hello, file explorer, Microsoft Edge that replaced Internet Explorer and Cortana that has the same functionality of Iphone's 'Siri". Setting it up easily was also provided along with its comprehensive guideline as well as the convenient shortcut that was tackled on the book.I also appreciate the pages with its picture on it I was able to grasp what the author is talking about. I am still on the process of getting used to this new interface thanks to this book I was guided and made my life hassle free of using my laptop with maximum ease at all.

By Cornelius Cedric I didn't like Windows 8.1 very much so I signed up as a Windows insider and upgraded all the way to RTM. I'm impressed with Windows 10 but wish Microsoft made a user guide that really documents the features in detail. Alan's book does a fine job in highlighting each of the features. There were a couple of parts that made me cringe like "Windows Edge". Window 10's new browser is actually called Microsoft Edge. I did spot a few screenshots that are from older builds.On the positive side, I learned some new Cortana tricks and discovered some new shortcuts. I think a lot of beginners will learn a lot too. I just hope a 2nd edition will be made to address the errors and talk about the new features brought by the upcoming Fall Update.
