Ogden is lost in his own way believing he has to hide his Alpha nature to live with the pack he grew up in. Its enchanting how they find the courage to be themselves as they fall in love.I was given this book by the author for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way for my opinion.

Ms. Locke writes with a vibrant voice that brought the story to life. The novella starts with a harrowing description of a murder and a young female wolf-shifter’s flight to safety.Following her mother’s last wish, Lara travels to the Black Hills to reconnect with a wolf pack that might reject her. Lara has a heavy burden. She is the last surviving Alpha female of the besieged Lamar Canyon pack.Ogden Woods, true to his name, is a lumberjack for the Black Hills pack. Ogden is having a hard time keeping up with the demands of life in a fast growing wolf pack. He’s a wee bit grouchy that his privacy is being intruded upon along with the prospect that with the influx of newcomers to Los Lobos, the odds a mate will arrive are on the rise. He’s overworked and under appreciated, but he dare not ask for help at the mill. He lives in dread of being bossed by another Alpha wolf and having his business taken from him.Okay, you know what’s coming. Lovely Lara arrives in Los Lobos desperate, homeless and unimpressed with what she sees. No fool, Lara deduces the only possible reason her mother would have directed her to this shabby backwater was to find her destined mate. Gee gives her a tepid reception, but Ogden falls hard for the independent Lara and offers her a place to stay. She feels the heat from Ogden and the call of a life mate, but revenge for her mother’s murder is never far from her mind. The ensuing attraction and devastating push and pull between Lara and Ogden was a thrill to read.Alpha in Disguise is a terrific addition to the Black Hills Wolves series. A fast paced plot, lots of heat and a storyline that dovetails perfectly with the rest of the series make this novella a winner.

When Ogden meets his mate Lara he has two choices: mate her and reveal who he really is or let her go and live a lonely life. What will be his choice? When Lara is sent by her dying mother to seek help the last thing she is looking for is a mate, what she really wants is a partner to help her commit her crime. Can the mating call help either of them or will it destroy everything they have worked to achieve?This book is so compelling and spellbinding that I was completely captivated by it. There are some powerful emotions in this book and it revealed the difference that love can make in your life.I totally loved this book, simply captivating. I was given this book to review by the author Afton Locke for my honest opinion of her writing. I read a lot of paranormal book but the emotions seen in this book totally sets it apart as an exceptional book.
