11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Love this series By TFLReader I became invested in Dorian and his journey in the first book in this series, "The Immortal Coil". Someone who possesses some pretty amazing powers, yet still needs to learn to harness them, Dorian is a hard guy not to love and the secondary characters in these stories are pretty amazing as well. In "Shadows of Humanity", two years have passed and Dorian has returned to New York from Japan only to be met with news of the ultimate impending doom. The dark paranormal elements in this particular book are what is making this story so intriguing and chillingly powerful. A really great urban fantasy read.

Every bit as good as the last one By Brandon After tearing through the previous book, The Immortal Coil, I bought this one /immediately/ upon finishing it.In my opinion? Every bit as good as the last one, and my god the mindscapes J Armand brings to life are spectacular!!I really enjoyed the budding romance that began between Dorian and a certain someone, and I can't wait to see where it ultimately leads!I'm still not good at reviewing without fear of giving too much away, so all I can say is, get this book after finishing the first one as soon as possible!

I hope there will be another book to come. For what it's worth, I read this and the first novel in only a few days' time, so I hope that attests to what great novels these are and what a superb writer J. Armand is.
