By ChrisGuestVT I absolutely love this series: the short but dense storytelling, the well thought out arcs, and the incredibly developed characters.Once again, I am blown away by William King's immaculate ability to craft an unwaveringly intriguing character.

Graham William King continues to deliver solid tales of sword & sorcery that would have easily been at home under the Weird Tales banner with the likes of Howard, Lovecraft & C.L. Moore. World-building takes a backseat to the story, but a consistent view into Kormak's dark world is taking shape by bits and pieces over the whole of the saga; shadows on the reader's peripheral vision even as Kormak charges head-long into battle.Turn off the electronics, turn down the lights, pour a glass and enjoy BORN OF DARKNESS.

When's the movie based on this world and character coming out?? ;) My only minor criticism of Book 7 is that while I've really enjoyed this Kormak series and will continue to buy them, this one ended a little abruptly. It was a fun read and captured the adventure and excitement of previous books, but I honestly thought I'd somehow gotten an incomplete version with that ending. All of the previous books have been self contained but this one seems like there must be another book coming? What about the plotline/teaser of something more ominous with regards to the Prince Taran? What happened to the King now that he'd seen the power and darkness of an Old One? Who placed the sarcophagus in with the treasure and defiled the ruins?? Heh, did I miss a chapter? I feel like there was at least a chapter or two missing at the end?? Anyway, a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying the author and the Conan/Clint Eastwood (his westerns) styled character set in a post apocalyptic/fantasy world but this one (7) needs a directors cut or extended edition to wrap up some of the plot lines!
