By Amazon Customer The book is very well written and it is an ideal book for anyone who wants to understand the controlling (CO) module including Product Costing and Material Ledger. The content depth and breadth are so great, and there are many excellent illustrative examples, I love the way the main points are highlighted by the Tips, Examples and Warnings. It provides a comprehensive overview of Controlling module, going far beyond the standard SAP help screens with the real time scenarios.Explaining the complex business scenarios using Global Confectioners, Inc. case study approach was excellent which made it so easy to understand the concepts not only in a technical view but also in business view.We have plenty of standard SAP CO configuration materials available in the market. However, unlike other standard SAP CO materials, the author described the functions of SAP CO effectively with the view of what we expect out of CO implementation at the end.To that end, I have found this to be an excellent book and strongly recommend it.

A well written concise book on SAP Controlling By Deal I like the way this book is written with the building block approach, it starts with explaining basics in SAP like organization structure and master data. Later chapters continue to take the reader step by step through all the different topics of Controlling module to do Product Costing and towards the end it concludes with very useful information on Profitability Analysis and examples of reports to do stock reconciliations. The author has given good examples, provided useful tips and also identified points of integration with some other SAP modules which makes it very easy to understand all the different concepts explained in this book.I would definitely recommend this book to both beginners who want to learn how the Controlling module works end to end as well as advanced SAP users who want to keep all the useful information handy in one place.

By Kindle Customer This is a well written book by Ashish Sampat that is a great overview of SAP Controlling (CO) with an emphasis on Product Cost Controlling. This book would be great for people who are new to SAP or intermediate users who want a refresher to to go to more depth on how the controlling environment works. This is what I liked about this book:- This book is very well organized and laid out. It starts with the basics of controlling structures and master data, moves on to the planning of direct and indirect cost centers and how assessments are used to flow costs from indirect to direct for product costing. Ashish then moves through production planning, the close cycle and how the Material Ledger works before pulling it all together with an overview of CO-PA Profitability Analysis and Inventory Reporting.- Along the way, Ashish takes us through SAP menu paths and uses examples from his fictitious company, Global Confectioners, Inc. There is a list of tcodes at the end of each chapter to define and reinforce topics.- This book is just under 200 pages but provides a great overview of the Controlling Process. Ashish is thorough and well organized, the book flows well and is packed with great examples, tips and explanations. This is a great handbook on Controlling and Product Costing and well worth the investment.
